Designed by an in-house team, the eSports studio offers gaming stations, leisure areas and co-working spaces. The venue is part of a drive by Wanyoo to promote the growth of the gaming industry in the UK. The brand has been backed by a £21m investment by Sicong Wang, the son of Chinese billionaire Jianlin Wang.

The 495 sq m (5,330 sq ft) site is part of Chinatown London, managed by property group Shaftesbury. It includes a 12-station eSports battle area, a public gaming area and a mobile phone gaming space. There are six private two-player rooms, six private group-gaming rooms, Xbox and PS4 consoles with 55-inch screens, and guests gave access to sofas, desks, board games, and a coffee and food bar.

Founded in Shanghai in 1998, Wanyoo Café has more than 1,100 branches worldwide. Wanyoo UK plans to collaborate with universities and eSports societies to hold training sessions, workshops and other events.

“I wanted to develop a gaming environment and social platform for the entire community; one that would allow people to have fun, relax, interact and socialise,” says Wanyoo UK director Zhaorong Chen. “Bringing this concept to the UK gaming community is an exciting step for Wanyoo Cafe.”
