Carrefour has launched its first Atacadão store in Aulnay-sous-Bois, France. The store, a Brazilian cash-and-carry model acquired by Carrefour in 2007, offers products up to 15% cheaper than typical hypermarkets.
This new format caters to both professional and private customers, emphasizing large-volume sales with additional discounts for bulk purchases. The 10,000 sqm store, located in a revamped hypermarket, boasts around 20,000 seasonal items, including 3,000 Carrefour private label products.
Atacadão’s strategy, which features minimal advertising and utilitarian store layouts, aims to combat inflation while evaluating the format’s potential for expansion.
