John Lewis expands menswear rental range following womenswear success.
John Lewis has launched the largest selection of menswear brands for rental on the high street, building on the success of its womenswear rental service. Powered by the rental and resale marketplace Hurr, the platform offers a curated range of brands starting at £40 for a four-day rental of a dinner jacket and trousers, available in sizes 34 to 46.
Customers can browse the collection online and choose to rent items for 4, 8, 16, or 30 days, with next-day delivery available. Once selected, the garments are shipped to customers with a pre-paid return label. Items are then dry cleaned by Hurr and made ready for the next rental.
The brands available include Boss Tailoring, Charles Tyrwhitt, and new brand Hay Life. This expansion follows a consistent demand for “mens rental” on the John Lewis website over the past 18 months. The global menswear rental market is projected to reach £2.36 billion by 2027, according to The Global Online Rental Report.
John Lewis initially launched its womenswear rental service in 2022, which has seen a 52% increase in members and a 40% rise in rentals year on year.
